Founder and owner of Blyde Tae Bide, a Shetland born 2003 Entrepreneur of the year award winner of the Robert Gordon University, a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and member of the Tourism Management Institute and the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland for almost 30 years.
Blyde tae Bide has been successful for over 20 years and with her wealth of experience of over 35 years in food and tourism both living and working Nationally and Internationally is clearly reflected in her high quality award winning business.
Amanda was born in Lerwick Shetland and has gained an extensive accolade of appointments and roles throughout her working career beginning as a fully qualified trained chef moving on to an Environmental Health Enforcement Officer, Food and Tourism project Manager and a twice elected Councillor where she was appointed on the executive board of Scotland Excel where she judged in the National awards. Other roles include vice chair of Audit committee, the development committee, social services committee, appointed member to the children's panel Area Support Team, KIMO, the license board, the pension board, chair of the legalized Police cells, trustee of the Shetland Charitable Trust, the harbour board, and a Director of the SSMO.
Her 35 year work history makes her the perfect ambassador for Shetland with her enthused passion and wealth of knowledge in tourism, food, sustainable development, culture and heritage and with expert experience working in a verity of sectors throughout Shetland and beyond.
